Among these the most important is that there are only twelve standard policies grouped under plans A through L. And all these policies provide their own set of benefits. Besides this it is also an important fact that most of the Medigap policies provide the basic benefits of the plans A and B and besides the basic benefits they have their own set of advantages.

Whatever company provides you with the Medigap plan but you have to remember that all the plans under Medicare supplement plan remains the same and supply the same facilities. All the private companies which provide these policies are bound to supply the same outline o policy profit under their scheme. As for example if you purchase a Medigap policy under plan A each and every company is bound to provide you the same benefits though the rate of premium may differ.
Thus you can understand the necessity of having a Medigap plan. Presently this plan is undergoing a change. Some plans are reintroduced with a slight change in their strategy and other setting.
