Chinese artist Lu Hao helped Ferrari customize this one-off Ferrari 599GTB.  The Ferrari’s unusual paint job was inspired by Ge Kiln porcelain, a type of pottery popular in China from 960 to 1162. Today, the few remaining examples of said porcelain are priceless museum pieces and, apparently, serve as a perfect motif for a Chinese one-off Ferrari. The resulting hue is a jade color with dark “cracks” in the paintwork.

The car follows a handful of other China Limited Edition 599s that were announced in September, but this one is the only example to get the faux pottery look. Other unique tweaks include a tachometer with numbers written in ancient Chinese script, special stitched-leather luggage, and a jade engine-start button with ancient script for “Engine Start.” The Ferrari will be auctioned November 3, with proceeds from the car’s auction helping fund an education program for Chinese students interested in automotive engineering.
