BMW Won’t Bring M3 GTS to US
Just a week after BMW’s M division quietly unveiled its lighter and more powerful M3 GTS, I shed a few tears when I learned the car will not be offered for sale in the U.S. For reasons unknown - other than maybe BMW executives in Munich getting some sick pleasure out of taunting us with this 3285-pound, 444-hp enhanced M3 - we will not see the GTS on our streets or race tracks. The most likely culprit is price, as the GTS will cost €115,000 in Germany, or roughly $172,000. Of course, translating pricing structures is never as simple as a currency conversion, but I’d be willing to bet BMW just couldn’t make a business case for such an expensive M3 in the U.S. Oh, what might have been. This spring, the grass in Germany will seem a little greener when M3 GTS deliveries commence. Related posts:
