Guy Carpenter acquires Rattner Mackenzie Limited

Risk and reinsurance specialist Guy carpenter & Company, LLC has declared it is to acquire 100% of the issued shares in Rattner Mackenzie Limited (RML) from HCC Insurance Holdings, Inc. (HCC).

RML is a reinsurance broker based in London, responsible for the placement of HCC’s reinsurance programs in the London market.

The move has been made in line with Guy carpenter’s strategic growth approach whereby organic expansion is augmented by acquisitions.

As part of the agreement the firm will become a significant supplier of reinsurance intermediary services to HCC.

Guy carpenter President and Chief Executive Officer Peter Zaffino has expressed his great pride at seeing Guy carpenter become a substantial partner of HCC.

The deal requires regulatory approval and is expected to be completed in this month.

Earlier in the year Guy carpenter acquired John B. Collins Associates, Inc., the globe’s seventh largest reinsurance intermediary, though terms of the deal were not disclosed.
