GM Cancels Plans for Unibody Trucks
The unibody design would have offered a smaller, more comfortable truck for buyers who don’t need all the hauling and towing capabilities of larger pickups. But AN reports that engineering costs for the smaller trucks would have pushed their price tags above those of full-sized models. As no pickup buyer would pay more money for a less-capable truck, GM couldn’t make a valid business case for the vehicle and canceled the program.
