Chevrolet Wants You to Name the Volt Color

If you want to be among the first members of the public to drive a Chevrolet Volt, all you have to do is win the contest to name the plug-in hybrid’s signature paint color. GM describes the pigment (shown above) as “a silver exterior with an emerald hue.”

Entries will be chosen based on “originality, creativity, and the ability to capture the innovation and spirit of the Volt,” whatever that means. GM will fly three finalists to Los Angeles at the end of November. They’ll each get a $400 gift card, a free stay at an L.A. hotel, and admission to the L.A. auto show. The winner gets to name the Volt’s paint and a chance to test-drive one of the cars.

At launch, the Volt will also be offered in colors including black, Silver Ice, Cyber Gray, Crystal Red, and White Diamond. More info on the contest, which ends November 4, can be found at www.chevroletvoltage.com.
