Hyundai dropped a revised Santa Fe off at the Frankfurt show, and although this version is for the European market, we can get a good idea of what the U.S. car will bring. Front-end styling tweaks include some new headlights, a chrome-outlined grille, and a more aggressive and taut fascia. The rear sees similar changes, with new taillights, fascia, and exhaust finishers. Elsewhere, the side mirrors have sprouted turn indicators and the roof rack gets the shiny-metal treatment. The interior gets a new gauge cluster and an optional rear-view-camera setup.

Fuel economy is the focus of most of the other upgrades. A new ECO coach tells drivers how well they’re doing with a series of colored LEDs. European powertrains include a roster of efficient engines, either a 2.4-liter gas four-cylinder with variable valve timing or a new 2.2-liter turbo-diesel. Both are backed by a choice of a six-speed manual or Hyundai’s new six-speed auto.

We expect most of the changes, save for the diesel, to make it here sometime next year, likely continuing with V-6 power.
