The Lincoln Navigator has been a popular full-sized luxury sport-utility vehicle since its debut in 1998. The current generation was introduced as a 2007 model. For 2009, Lincoln has now made standard many features that were previously optional on the vehicle that will carry up to eight people and tow up to 9,000 pounds when properly equipped (4×2 model/standard wheelbase). Smart standard features start with the Front Sensing System. This ultrasonic system combines with the Reverse Sensing System to help make parking the large Navigator much easier. The systems give an audible warning when the vehicle comes close to certain stationary objects while parking. Another item that can reduce stress is the standard rearview camera. This displays an image of what’s behind you on the rearview mirror when the vehicle is in reverse (and in the navigation screen when equipped with the optional Navigation System). Lincoln’s SYNC voice-activated system for cell phone, MP3 player and more, co-developed with Microsoft, is now standard on the Navigator. Also standard this year is the Easy Fuel capless fuel filler system, which means drivers no longer need to remove the gas cap to add fuel. Stay with us here. There are more standard features.

Included is a power liftgate, and front seats that are now cooled in addition to being heated. Second-row seats are now heated but not cooled. In addition, all Navigators come with rain-sensing windshield wipers that automatically turn on the wipers when precipitation is detected. Also standard is a 14-speaker THX II Certified Audio System with a 600-watt amplifier, 14 speakers and a six-disc CD changer (single CD when equipped with Navigation) and a 6-month complimentary subscription to SIRIUS Satellite Radio. More standards: 18-inch-diameter aluminum wheels, high-intensity discharge headlamps and dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control. But, there’s more.
